Kathleen Brazie (MA, RSME, E-RYT, Purple Boots Creative Founder) studied dance/movement in NYC, performing professionally for many years in companies and colleges in Arizona. She earned an MA with Distinction in Dance/Somatic Well-Being from University of Central Lancashire, researching phenomenology, consciousness, and narrative inquiry as related to performance and creativity. She also holds a B.A. in Literature. A movement educator specializing in somatic embodiment, textual analysis, and performance skills, Kathleen is an award-winning choreographer, frequently collaborating on large-scale theatrical productions and educational workshops. Favorite projects include facilitating professional development workshops in South America, presenting for Moving Body Festivals in NYC, consulting with music educators on repetitive stress injuries, and dancing in Beatitudes services. Kathleen is a Registered Somatic Movement Educator-ISMETA, certified yoga instructor, and published writer. Her pilgrimage through breast cancer was supported by somatic movement and inspires her to deeply explore joy, ease, transformation, and compassion.
